British Youth Orchestra: Summer Gala Concert and Dinner

The Harvard Club of The United Kingdom
cordially invites you a

Summer Gala Concert and Dinner

"Claire Rutter and Gwyn Hughes Jones"

Following the success of the British Youth Opera's 25th Anniversary Concert in  November , the BYO are delighted to welcome back more  of their distinguished alumni singers for  this special  Summer Gala at the Fishmongers' Hall.

Soprano Claire Rutter (Donna Anna, Don Giovanni, BYO 1991) and tenor Gwyn Hughes Jones (Marcello, La bohème, BYO 1993) are reunited after their acclaimed performances as Tosca and Cavaradossi for English National Opera in 2011.

For this concert of opera highlights they will be accompanied by pianist Steven Maughan and joined onstage  by BYO alumni and singers  from our forthcoming productions, all of whom will be joining  guests for dinner.

The Fishmongers' Hall was the  scene of BYO's 2011 gala and is one of the most spectacular of London's Livery Halls, with its views over London Bridge.  The concert will be preceded by a champagne reception, and followed by a three course dinner from the Fishmongers' Hall team and their award winning Head Chef.

Tickets are priced at £250 and all proceeds go towards British Youth Opera's 2013 Summer Season productions, during which more than 120 young singers, musicians and other trainees will take part in  productions of Paul Bunyan(part of 'Britten100', celebrating the composer's centenary) and The Secret Marriage, with performances taking place at Sadler's Wells' Peacock Theatre from 7 to 14 September.

We do hope you will join us for what promises to be an extremely memorable evening, helping to  support the next generation of opera professionals.
