Following the success of our virtual Literary Lunch, the board of the 7 College Conference is excited to invite you to our Summer Film Club.
Held once a month we will discuss classic movies with Malene Sheppard Skaeved, Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths University. Malene is the current president of the 7CC board, and will be sharing her expert knowledge about the technique behind each movie before we move on to a general conversation around the themes and the film itself.
The films we will be discussing are as follows:
JUNE - 06/29 - 18:00 - City Lights
Dir. Charlie Chaplin, 1931
JULY - 07/27 - 18:00 - The 39 Steps
Dir. Alfred Hitchcock, 1935
AUGUST - 08/24 - 18:00 - Orlando
Dir. Sally Potter, 1992
Films are available to rent or stream, you're encouraged to watch the movies ahead of time and come with your own questions, although topics for discussion will also be provided. Conversation will centre around technique as well as meaning, with an introduction from Malene followed by general discussion. We look forward to a lively debate from 7CC Alumna.
Dependent on sign up we anticipate the conversation to run for around an hour. Please sign up through the contact form, all sessions will be held on zoom and details will be shared upon receipt. Reach out to Ellen Whitehead (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions.
Looking forward to seeing some of you then.
