EVENT SUMMARY

Richard Curtis is a screen writer and director, responsible for films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Mr. Bean, Love Actually, The Boat That Rocked, About Time and most recently Trash and Esio Trot.

In the other half of Richard’s life, he is the Co-Founder and Vice-Chair of Comic Relief, which he started after visiting Ethiopia during the 1985 famine. In 1988, Comic Relief launched its Red Nose Day fundraising initiative, including a live TV broadcast for the BBC, which brought together some of the biggest celebrities of the day. Since then, Richard has produced more than 16 live nights of television and Red Nose Day has raised more than £1 billion for projects in the UK and around the world.

Vanessa Kirby starred in Richard Curtis’s film About Time alongside Rachel McAdams and Domnall Gleeson and Everest alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Keira Knightley, which opened the 2015 Venice Film Festival.

In 2016, Vanessa played Princess Margaret alongside Claire Foy and Matt Smith in the highly anticipated Netflix series The Crown. The hit series won The Crown a Golden Globe for Best Drama TV series in 2017. Vanessa was also nominated for Supporting Actress at the British Academy Television Awards 2017 for her role as Princess Margaret.

Next year, Vanessa will star in Mission: Impossible 6 alongside Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill and Rebecca Ferguson. The film is set for release in the US on 27th July 2018.

On the 27th February at JW3, Vanessa and Richard will be discussing the film industry and their experiences across their careers, as well as their charitable endeavours.
