Please join the Harvard Club of the UK to visit 'Terrains of the Body - Photography from the National Museum of Women in the Arts' with curator Emily Butler, Whitechapel's Mahera and Mohammad Abu Ghazaleh Curator, a curator, writer and translator who has been with Whitechapel Gallery since 2010.

This event has been made possible by Beth Colocci, who will also attending the visit. Beth is Chairman of Trustees of UK Friends of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, an independent curator, arts patron and photographer.

We will meet at Whitechapel Gallery at 9:30 am.  We will finish before 11 am when the gallery opens to the public.

NB nearest tube is Aldgate East.  The Whitechapel entrance door is just to the left of the Tube.

About Terrains of the Body
Drawn from the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, U.S.), this collection display showcases photography and video work by seventeen contemporary artists from around the world.
By turning their camera to women, including themselves, these artists embrace the female body as a vital medium for storytelling, expressing identity and reflecting individual and collective experience.
Featuring work by: Marina Abramović, Rineke Dijkstra, Anna Gaskell, Nan Goldin, Charlotte Gyllenhammar, Candida Höfer, Icelandic Love Corporation, Mwangi Hutter, Kirsten Justesen, Justine Kurland, Nikki S.
