The Harvard Club of the UK has been given a limited number of tickets to hear Sir Paul Nurse in conversation with Dr. Adam Rutherford. Sir Paul will be in discussions with Dr. Adam Rutherford about ‘Doing Science’ during which he hopes to explain what it is like to be a research scientist.

Sir Paul Nurse is a Nobel Laureate for Physiology or Medicine, President of the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy for science, and founding Director of the Francis Crick Institute London.  Previously he was President of Rockefeller University, New York and CEO of Cancer Research UK.  He is an active biomedical researcher running a laboratory which investigates how cells control their reproduction, their shape and their overall growth.  

He has been a member of the Council of Science and Technology for 15 years advising three Prime Ministers over science matters relevant to public policy, and is committed to public engagement mainly through radio and TV appearances, including co-hosting a PBS chat show series in New York and presenting a number of science programmes for BBC TV.  Paul will be in discussions with Dr. Adam Rutherford about ‘Doing Science’ during which he hopes to explain what it is like to be a research scientist.
