The Harvard-Oxford Alumni (and friends!) Social Business Group is delighted to open registration for our next "Putting The Soul Back Into Business" event!  We will continue to explore how we can come together to use business as a force for positive social change and to hear the personal journeys of the social entrepreneurs and social intrapreneurs on our panel - the challenges they have faced and the impact they are making.   


Date: Thursday 5th November 2015
Time: 6.30pm for registration;  7pm-8.15pm:  Panel discussion & Q&A,  followed by drinks

Kevin Ackermann - Social Entrepreneur & founder of BACA Jewellery, empowering survivors of human trafficking by harnessing their creative skills;
Brenton Amedee - Social Intrapreneur, BNP Paribas, delivering basic human needs to individuals sheltering in "The Jungle" camp in Calais;
Kay Allen, OBE - Social Intrapreneur championing under-represented interests in the consumer market place and Founding Director of Trading For Good, a digital service inspiring & supporting small businesses to be more socially responsible by celebrating the good work they do in their communities;
Jamie Ward-Ellis – Founding CEO of charity Ivo and sister organisation Do-It.org, an innovative award-winning volunteering network which promotes the use of social technologies to enable social action and connects volunteers to opportunities across the UK;
Herman Stewart - Founding CEO of Every Child Needs a Mentor who played football for Great Britain & was a professional recording artist featuring on MTV & BBC Radio One. Herman is now on a mission to inspire a generation, by enabling children of all backgrounds to access the power of mentoring.

First-time non-Harvard alumni simply need to register on the Harvard Club UK site where it says "Non-alumni guests-please be sure to sign in by clicking here", a temporary password will be sent to your e-mail, sign back in as a non-alumni and proceed with payment - this will just take a few minutes!    

 

If you would like to participate in our "Spotlight on the Audience" section where we hand the mic to audience members to share details (in less than 30 seconds!) of volunteering opportunities or social issues which the business world can help to address, please reply to this email with details by Thursday 22nd October.
