Calling all volunteers for our Global Month of Service!

Calling all volunteers for our Global Month of Service!

Saturday April 18th

10am - 3pm

St. Lukes' Community Centre 90 Central Street, London, EC1V 8AJ

(near Old Street station)

HCUK will again be participating this year in what will be our 4th year running!  We have had great success in the past working together with improving facilities at Solace Women's Trust, providing lunchtime service for the residents at Ashford Place, or helping last year to renovate Hotel Elephant an artist collective.

This year we will be collaborating with famous children's author Louise Yates in London and Daytrippers an organisation for young disabled people in the UK www.daytrippers.org.uk.  Daytrippers was founded in 2003 to help children with disabilities, life limiting or terminal illnesses enjoy amazing experiences. To date Daytrippers  has helped over 20,000 children by either funding group daytrips or hosting their own larger scale events, encouraging the children and their parents to experience new and exciting environments all whilst making friends.

We are calling on Harvard Alumni to help lead this half day event aimed at building self confidence and self-esteem for children through creative activities and workshops. Volunteers are needed as activity leaders, assisting with the lunch service and stall assistants.

This is also a chance to meet other fellow Alumni while assisting a very worthy cause. We look forward to a great contribution again this year!

Please email George Arvanitis georgearv@me.com for more details and if you like to sign up for this event.  More information about Harvard's international initiative of the April Global Month of Service can be found at www.alumni.harvard.edu/events/global-month-service .
