Putting the Soul Back into Business – join us for another great event on Nov. 11

Thank you to those of you who came to our "Putting The Soul Back Into Business" event in May.   We were pleased to see a full house and that so many of you were able to stay for drinks and exchange ideas as to how we can use business as a force for positive social change.

For those who missed it, we:

  • Continued to explore what it means to be a social "intrapreneur" and to drive change from within. We heard from a lady who after 2004 tsunami decided that planting a tree wasn't sufficient - she galvanised her colleagues to build a school for tsunami victims;
  • Discussed the challenges of ensuring the social initiative outlasts the intrapreneur once they have left the company;
  • Heard how one social "entrepreneur" is transforming the lives of young offenders through coaching and harnessing their entrepreneurial skills - for those who haven't seen Baillie Aaron's TedX talk, here's the link:  http://www.sparkinside.org/mission-and-core-values/
  • Delved deeper into the philosophy behind "conscious capitalism" and challenged ourselves to change mindsets at boardroom level, as well as grassroots.

Our next event will be on Tuesday 11th November at 6.30 pm at the law firm Baker & McKenzie in the City.
