Fernando M. Reimers
Ford Foundation Professor of the Practice of International Education and Director of Global Education Innovation Initiative and of International Education Policy Program, Harvard University
Professor Reimers is an expert in the field of Global Education. His research and teaching focus on the relationship between education policy, innovation, leadership and quality improvement to support children and youth in developing the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.
His writings have conceptualized and defined the profile of a globally competent graduate in the 21st century. He chairs an annual Think Tank that brings to Harvard University leaders of thought and practice in global education around the world.
His current research focuses on the study of educational policies and programs that develop 21s century skills in an eight country comparative study. He has also studied the impact of entrepreneurship education with youth in the Middle East and on the impact of citizenship education programs in youth in Latin America.
He is a member of the US Commission for UNESCO and works with policy makers in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Education.
